Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.

The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
